The Land
Glendalough, or Gleann Da Loch in Irish, is steeped with ancient history and natural beauty. For many centuries, spiritual seekers have been drawn here. From the early Celtic Christian monks who settled here in 700 A.D. to the pagan tribal clans and druids before them.
Located within the Wicklow Mountains National Park, approximately an hour south of Dublin. Famous for the glacial valley of two lakes, abundant deer, preserved forests and most noticeably the ruins of an ancient monastic settlement.
The energy of the land here is exquisite, we are blessed for our lodging to be less than a five minute walk from the entrance of the monastic city and path to the valley providing full access to the many hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and forest bathing amongst the ancient oaks and pine trees.
We will have time and space to explore this uniquely beautiful valley as a group, and in solitude in your free time.
"Walking the timeless trails of Glendalough keeps a fire burning at the heart of the spiritual imagination and leads to a sense of being at home with everything and everyone"

Our Retreat Center
‘Tearmann', the old Irish word for sanctuary or refuge, is located on the site of Glendalough's first national school 'Brocca' founded in 1832. The present stone building dates back to 1865. In 1993, under the direction of Fr. Michael Rodgers, the Tearmann Spirituality Centre was founded.
Now known as the Glendalough Sanctuary, worldwide visitors from all faith traditions and none are welcomed, offering quiet time away from busy lives and schedules. Rooms are provided in a complex of three individual apartments with kitchens and ensuite bathrooms, facilities include a meditation & yoga space, treatment room and sauna.
Located a 5 minute walk from the entrance of the monastic ruins and national park, a 15 minute walk into the village, and directly on the St. Kevins Bus route which participants will arrive & depart to Dublin on.
The caretakers of the centre are INCREDIBLE people, Paschal, Susanne and Breda, and the beautiful dog Álainn are onsite or nearby to support us throughout our week. Lodging is simple, clean, and imbued with the many years of prayer, reflection and meditation held here. Paschal leads a morning mediation open to all each day which is optional but highly recommended.

About your guide through myth & mystery
Amber Moon is an intuitive, lover of the natural world and devotee of the mystery. She has long been drawn to the wisdom of the past, having studied & practiced in various forms of shamanism, natural living, yoga and healing modalities for over a decade. Since youth, she felt an inner knowing calling her to remember a different way of being, a different way of life…which led through years of deep remembrance, world travel and learning. Guided towards a reconnection with the wisdom traditions of the Celtic Isles, she participated with a Celtic Mystery School and made her first pilgrimage to Ireland. Since then she has been called back, this time with the mission to bring women on deeply meaningful and transformative immersions of awakening and remembrance. The 2025 retreat will be her second year guiding a group journey to Ireland. Each retreat donates a portion of the fee towards reforestation of Ireland’s native woodlands.
F.A.Q.’S
Q: Do I need prior experience with yoga or meditation?
A: It is recommended to have some basic prior experience, but no expertise is required.
Q: How active will the experience be?
A: There is a steady rythym in our scheduling to maximize experience from a space of engagement without overstimulation. Downtime and personal time is planned into the itinerary, but that being said, there are multiple days where we will be walking over the course of a few hours. The nature walks and hikes are not difficult (unless you choose the harder hikes in your free time) but there will still be multiple walking activities throughout the week.
Q: I have health/mobility restrictions, will that be okay?
A: Please contact me to discuss what you are experiencing, to determine if this experience will be accessible for you. There are a series of about 30 steps to the retreat center which sits on a hill. We also have multiple day excursions that will require extensive walking, sometimes on uneven ground.
Q: I’ve never traveled out of the country before, and I am not sure about how to make my plans.
A: I have traveled many times, and am more than happy to help you sort out everything to feel safe and secure.
Q: I’m nervous about getting there traveling solo.
A: There will be a group chat, so I can help solo travelers connect with each other to have a travel buddy to and from the retreat if desired.
Q: I don’t know how to pack or what to bring.
A: Prior to the retreat, everyone will receive an email with the preparations list including what to bring with you.
Q: If I change my mind after signing up, can I receive a refund?
A: Signing up is making the commitment to joining and payment is non refundable unless a replacement participant is found to take your space. If something shifts in your life, we will do our best to find a replacement for your spot, but if a replacement isn’t found, there won’t be a refund.
